Windy Night Ahead

Wind gusts may near 60 miles per hour.

That National Weather Service has issued a high wind watch for Washtenaw County. The advisory is in effect from 7 p.m. Friday through Saturday morning.

The strongest winds are expected to occur between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Saturday, with the possibility of southwesterly gusts nearing 60 miles per hour.

Downed power lines and power outages are possible, according to the advisory.

A high wind watch means there is the potential for a hazardous high wind event. Sustained winds of at least 40mph or gusts of 58 mph or stronger may occur, according to the advisory.
