Weekend Planner: Summerfest and Fun!
Summerfest lands in Saline with something fun for everyone!
1. Kids Fishing Contest
When/Where: Saturday, August 6th at in Saline. Registration starts at 7:30am, fishing starts at 8am.
Why Go: Three age groups allow for fair fishing (6 and under, seven-to-10, and 11-to-14), rods and reels provided by Cabela’s, worms provided by Holy Faith Church. Prizes for most fish and biggest fish. All fish are thrown back after catching and measuring. Parents may help cast only, kids do the rest.
Cost: Free.
2. Summerfest Evening Entertainment
When/Where: Friday and Saturday in Downtown Saline, in the parking lot behind Little Caesars, on South Ann Arbor Street between Michigan Avenue and Henry Street.
Why Go: Dance the night away to the two headline acts, 56 Daze on Friday night and Scoot Magoo on Saturday night, both from 8-11 p.m. There will be ongoing entertainment all day as well, from musical groups to dance performances.
Cost: Free.
3. Art and Craft Fair at Summerfest
When/Where: 5-9 p.m. Friday, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday. Booths will be set up along north and south Ann Arbor Streets in downtown Saline.
Why Go: An art and craft lovers dream! Fiber art, fine art, caricatures, pottery, demonstrations, jewelry, wearables, photography, eatables, face painting and much, much more!
Cost: Free.
4. Saline Street Machines Car Show
When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, in downtown Saline. Awards to be given at 3 p.m.
Why Go: A vehicle for every auto enthusiast! All makes, all models, all years.
Cost: Free.

When/Where: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Saline Family Dentistry, 1081 N. Ann Arbor St. in Saline.
Why Go: Fun for kids! Popcorn, hot dogs, balloons and more!
