Weekend Planner: Splash Bash, Crafts and More

Here's a look at what's going on around town this weekend.

Mermaid Splash Bash

  • Where:
  • When: 6-8 p.m. today
  • Pricing: In advance, $8 for children, $3 for parents; price goes up $2 starting Nov. 10
  • Why Go: Splish-splash, get ready to plunge into fun as the Saline Rec Center hosts its Mermaid Splash Bash. Guests will join Mermaid Sirena as she swims and plays with children and families in the pool. Plus, try on a mermaid tail and try going for a swim. Art projects and snacks are planned, too, and people can purchase a photo memento of their underwater adventure.

  • Where: Milan High School, 200 Big Red Drive
  • When: 7 p.m. today and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday (Show runs through Nov. 20.)
  • Pricing: $10
  • Why Go: Get ready for fractured fairy tale fun with Milan High School's Drama Club presents Into the Woods, the show by James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim, populated with Rapunzel, Little Red Riding Hood, Cinderella and more in a fun and whimsical romp.

Saline Craft Show

  • Where:Saline Middle School
  • When: 8 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Saturday
  • Pricing: $3 admission
  • Why Go: Browse more than 200 booths full of arts and craft items -- including the works of local artisans -- plus baked goods, and much more. Concessions will be available, and guests can enter raffle drawings. The event benefits Saline Area Youth Programs.

Fifth Corner's Tailgate Open House

  • Where: Fifth Corner
  • When: 4:15 p.m. Sunday
  • Pricing: Free
  • Why Go: Fifth Corner Teen Center celebrates its one-year anniversary with an open house. Come on by and see what Fifth Corner offers the youth of the community and catch some of the Lion's game.

  • Wine, Women & Shopping, downtown Chelsea, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Saturday. Enjoy bargains, wine, refreshments, giveaways, fashion shows and more.
  • "Musical Harvest" dinner and concert, , 6 p.m. Saturday. Spaghetti supper followed by One Voice Gospel Choir. $15 for adults, 12 and younger free. Concert only, $10.
