Weekend Planner: Football, Rodeo, Owls and Music!

It sure feels like Fall! We've got some great activities to sneak in right before we say goodbye to summer.

1. Super Kicker Rodeo

When/Where: Friday-Sunday at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd. in Saline. The show starts at 7 p.m.

Why Go: Super Kickers is a fourth generation rodeo and they really know their stuff! If you like lots of action, clowns and all things cowboy and cowgirl, gather up your posse and check it out!

Cost: $5 for kids, $10 for adults. Advance tickets with VIP parking are available at Tractor Supply Company and in Saline and .

2.  Who’s Hoo in Saline

When/Where: 7:30 p.m. Saturday in 440 W. Michigan Ave. in Saline. Meet in the pavilion.

Why Go: Saline Parks Commission is offering a unique program. A naturalist from Huron-Clinton MetroParks will explore the world of owls. After an informational session, the group will walk to a location at the back of the park to “call” owls, listen for return calls and maybe even see an owl in the wild. Quiet and patience is needed!

Cost: $3 for kids under 12, $5 for adults and kids over 13.

3.  Varsity Hornets Football

When/Where: 7 p.m. Friday in 1300 Campus Parkway in Saline.

Why Go: Opening Friday night football under the lights! Saline vs. Walled Lake Western. Concessions available. The Saline High School Marching Band puts on the halftime show.

When/Where: Saturday at 8 p.m. at the , 101 W. Michigan Ave. in downtown Saline.

Why Go: Soothing sounds of Ann Arbor’s Abigail Stauffer.

Cost: Free 

5.  Open Mic Night

When/Where: 7 p.m. Saturday at Brewed Awakenings, 7025 E. Michigan Ave. in Saline.

Why Go: Ever wanted to sing in front of a crowd? Need practice singing or playing instruments in public? Bring your voice, band and instruments in for open mic night.

Cost: Free.
