Weekend Planner: Fair Week and More!

Lots to do at Saline Fair, and the Opera comes to Saline

1. Michigan Opera

When/Where: Originally planned for the Saline Senior Center, this event is now relocated to Liberty School Auditorium, 7265 N. Ann Arbor St. in Saline at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Why Go: Two singers from the Michigan Opera Theater will perform songs ranging from the 1940s to contemporary music. They will be accompanied by a pianist.

Cost: Free for senior citizens.


2. Saline Community Fair

When/Where: The fair continues until Monday at the Washtenaw Farm Council Grounds, 5055 N. Ann Arbor Rd. Barns and animals open as early as 8 a.m. on some days, for complete schedule click here.

Cost: $7 entry, kids 10 and under are free. Ride armbands are $18, but $5 for kids 9 and up on Thursday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. All grandstand events are free.

3.  Saline Fair Parade

When/Where: Saturday at noon in downtown Saline.

Why Go: See tons of friendly faces, Miss Saline, animals and more!

Cost: Free.

4.  Saline’s Got Talent

When/Where: 6 p.m. Friday at the Saline Community Fair, 5055 N. Ann Arbor Rd. in Saline.

Why Go: See a variety of local talent compete in the ultimate talent contest!

Cost:  Fair entry $7. Kids 10 and under are free.

5.  Wolverine Tractor Pull

When/Where:  Thursday at the Saline Fair Grand Stands, 5055 N. Ann Arbor St. in Saline.

Why Go: The rumble and roar of competitive tractors, of course!  Featuring Four Wheel Drive, modified, Super Stock and Super Farm tractors.

Cost:  $7 to enter fair, grandstand events are free.
