VIEWFINDER: Honoring Sacrifice

The Washtenaw County Criminal Justice Association held its annual Police Memorial Ceremony in Ypsilanti Wednesday. Members of the Saline, Milan and Pittsfield police departments were among those in attendance.

The ceremony, held at Washtenaw 100 Club Memorial Park, was held in remembrance of Washtenaw County police officers who've perished in the line of duty.

The bell tolled for the following police officers killed while on duty:

• Chief Riley Scott Sumner, April 13, 2006

• Reserve Officer Mathew Tuttle, April 13, 2006
