Tornado Warning Issued

The National Weather Service says a funnel cloud was spotted north of Dexter.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Washtenaw County until 6:30 p.m.At 5:26 p.m., trained weather spotters reported a funnel cloud near dexter. A tornado may develop at any time, according to the weather service. Doppler Radar showed a storm moving southeast at 15 miles per hour.

The storm is expected to be near Dexter at 5:40 p.m. and Ann Arbor around 6:15 p.m.

The warning area includes surrounding areas including Saline, Milan, Dexter and Willis.The National Weather services warns people to move into an interior room on the lowest floor of a study building and to avoid windows.

If in a mobile home or vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.
