Severe Weather Rolling into Washtenaw County

The storms are expected to strike before 5:30 p.m. as the region remains under a tornado watch.

The National Weather Service has issued a tornado warning for Washtenaw County until 6:15 p.m.

Severe thunderstorms are rolling toward the region.

The National Weather Service Doppler Radar spotted strong to severe thunderstorms along a line extending from 31 miles west of Lansing to 37 miles southwest of Adrian and moving east at 60 miles per hour.

The storms are expected to reach the area by 5:25 p.m. The storms may feature strong winds, continuous lightning and frequent downpours.

The National Weather Service warned residents to stay away from trees and other tall outdoor objects and to seek shelter in a sturdy structure until the storms have passed.

The region remains under a tornado watch until 8 p.m. Sunday and a flood watch until 2 a.m. Monday.
