Severe Thunderstorm Watch Issued

Storms could produce hail and strong winds

At 3:30 p.m. today, the National Weather Service issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of southeastern Michigan, including Washtenaw County.

Scattered severe storms late this afternoon may produce wind gusts to 70 miles per hour and one-inch diameter hail. Additional storms may blow through tonight, and there is a slight chance some of those may be severe, according to the weather alert. Expect storms to continue on Monday as well.

A "watch" is issued when conditions exist for severe storms to develop.
