Saline Firefighters Extinguish Barn Blaze at Braun Farm

A quick reaction helped minimize damage, according to Fire Chief Hoeft.

The Saline Fire Department put out a barn fire at the Braun Farm on Bemis Road Friday morning.

Firefighters were dispatched to the scene at 7:50 a.m.

“Luckily Howard and Kelven (Braun) spotted it early and we were able to get out there and extinguish the fire without too much damage,” said Saline Fire Chief Craig Hoeft.

The cause of the fire is unknown, Hoeft said. The barn was used to store some flammable items, such as sawdust, he said.

Pittsfield Township Fire Department assisted on the scene with a tanker.
