Give Back: Post Your Empty Bowl And Patch Will Donate To Help Saline Area Schools

For every different Empty Bowl posted to Patch, we're donating $1 to the Foundation for Saline Area Schools.

The creative and talented students in are raising thousands of dollars for Food Gatherers of Washtenaw County at the Feb. 2.

Now you can help give back to the school district while showcasing the fine work of Saline Area Schools visual artists.

Every patron of the Empty Bowls benefit receives a student-made, ceramic bowl to serve as a reminder of all those who go hungry. Post a picture of the bowl you take home and we'll donate $1 to the Foundation for Saline Area Schools. The foundation supports the district's arts programs.

Posting a picture is easy.

1. Take a picture of your bowl.

2. Log on to Patch and Sign In. (registering takes just a second).

3. Click on the big "Upload Photos and Videos" button.

4. Pat yourself on the back because tonight you helped feed the hungry in Washtenaw County and fund initiatives in Saline schools.

The more bowls that are uploaded, the more money we'll donate. Patch will donate up to $500 to the foundation.

We ask that users limit themselves to two uploads each.

The foundation is a non-profit organization that provides private funding to support academic projects, enrichment programs, and other activities aimed at enhancing the quality of education in the Saline school district. The foundation is currently raising $70,000 for the Kids Who Read Succeed literacy campaign, which aims to stock classroom libraries with new materials.

LEGAL DISCLAIMER: Patch will donate $1 to the Foundation for Saline Area Schools for each photo of a different bowl that is uploaded until 5 p.m. Feb. 9, 2012. Maximum donation is $500.
