PHOTO GALLERY: The 36th Annual Saline Holiday Parade

Thousands were downtown for the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce Holiday Parade.

The Saline Area Chamber of Commerce presented the 36th Annual Holiday Parade downtown Thursday evening.

The crowd was five-people deep for most of the parade route.

"It went off without a hitch," said Larry Osterling, Executive Director of the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce.

There were 65 entrants and 1,271 entrants in the parade. There were 18 floats and 15 animals.

Following the parade, many parents brought their children to , where Santa and Mrs. Claus greeted guests at Santa's Village.

The holiday fun continues Sunday with more major events in Saline.

Sunday is the last day to see the at Stone Arch Arts and Events. Show times are 1 and 3:30 p.m.

At 2 p.m., the Fiddlers ReStrung play the annual at Ellen Ewing Peforming Arts Center. Appearing on stage with Fiddlers ReStrung will be the local group Appleseed Collective and singers from the Saline High School Chorus performing holiday favorites. For the past four years, the Saline Area Fire Department and Fiddlers ReStrung have collected more than 4,000 toys distributed by Saline Area Social Services.
