National Weather Service Issues Winter Storm Warning

Forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of snow and then freezing rain.

The National Weather Service has upgraded its winter weather storm watch to a winter storm warning for Washtenaw County and Southeast Michigan.

The warning, which is in effect from 4 p.m. Sunday until 7 a.m. Monday, calls for freezing rain, sleet and snow that could cause power losses and making driving dangerous.

Snow is expected to develop at about 1 p.m. Sunday and change to sleet and freezing rain Sunday evening. The forecast calls for 1 to 3 inches of show and up to a quarter-inch of ice by Monday morning.
