Some children get $1 per A on their report cards. What about a new video game for a perfect spelling test? More and more, we hear of parents rewarding their children for a job well done in school or for keeping up with chores at home.
Is it really much different from when our generation received allowances? When is a reward more like a bribe?

Positive reinforcement is all the rage. Study after study shows that positive reinforcement helps foster self-worth in our children. The question becomes whether we, as adults, have taken this strategy to whole new level. Have we conditioned our children to expect material recognition? Or would they be just as happy to hear parents tell them they are proud?
We want to hear what you think. Do you reward your children for grades or good behavior? If so, how is it working for you? Is there a right way and a wrong way to reward? How much is too much?
