Moms Talk: How Should Families Spend Their Spring Break 'Stay-Cations'?

Not all families get to travel for spring break, but that doesn't mean it has to be boring at home.

If it is Wednesday on Patch.com, it is time for Moms Talk! Welcome to a growing community conversation that gets parents talking about the different issues they face every day.

Each Wednesday afternoon, a different topic is introduced for discussion. Parents are invited to make comments, advise other parents and answer questions that are posted, or ask their own question for someone else to answer. Moms Talk is about parents using their greatest resource—other parents!

I’m still looking for permanent members of the Mom Council (or Dad). If you would like to be a regular contributor, and be available to comment each Wednesday on Moms Talk, just let us know! You will be sent an email the day before, letting you know the topic of the day so you are ready to comment on Wednesdays. Please send Mom Council requests to ajscarlett@comcast.net.

This week we are talking about what to do over spring break if you are not traveling. Kids at school are already talking about upcoming trips and adventures they plan to take next week, but for some families, a destination vacation may not be in the budget or fit a parent’s work schedule. So this week on Moms Talk, hopefully we will get a full list of ideas from families as to how to make a spring break at home just as memorable for kids staying put as it will be for kids going away.

Let the "stay-cation" ideas roll!
