Mac's Hosts Formal Main Street Announcement March 20

The community is invited to attend a press conference and stay for dessert.

The community is invited to attend as Saline is formally designated as a select-level Michigan Main Street community during a press conference at at 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 20.

Representatives from the Michigan Main Street Center will be coming to downtown Saline to make the official announcement.

Dessert will be provided by the Saline Main Street program.

On Feb. 22, Gov. Rick Snyder announced that the community of Saline was selected to take part in the Michigan Main Street program.

As a full-fledged Michigan Main Street community, Saline will receive five years of intensive technical assistance, through the Michigan Main Street program, with a focus on revitalization strategies designed to attract new residents, business investment, economic growth and job creation to their central business district.

The city's economic development committee has pledged $200,000 in support of the Main Street effort.

Saline is the 17th select-level community in Michigan, and the first in Washtenaw County.

Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack is located at 104 E. Michigan in Downtown Saline.
