Live Blogging the Saline Spring Craft Show

Editor Tran Longmoore is posting pictures and notes from Saturday's Spring Craft Show at Saline Middle School.

The Sun is Out Updated at 3:50 p.m.

The sun is out just in time to go put up all those spring-themed yard ornaments sold at today's Saline Spring Craft Sale. I'm told that more than 3,000 attended today's sale. Lots of money was raised for Saline sports teams and local charities like Saline Social Services and Aid In Milan. I saw a lot of friendly faces and made a couple new friends today. Overall, it was an afternoon well-spent.

Sorry for disappearing. My wireless USB device has decided to return Internet speeds to 1998-era levels. There's only about 20 minutes left in the show. But a few people I just talked with say now is the best time to shop. There's plenty of great items left and crafters are marking down prices.

Crowds are thinning at the Spring Craft Show. With 90 minutes left, it could be an opportunity for power shoppers. There still 30 minutes to meet the Easter Bunny, too.

Less than One Hour To Choose a Basket

Updated at 1:08 p.m.

Brian Puffer, Director of Saline Community Education, just started the countdown to the end of the gift basket silent auction. Saline Craft Show visitors have until 2 p.m. to bid on these packages. Proceeds benefit Saline Area Social Services and Aid in Milan

Choose a basket, help a local charity

Updated at 12:40 p.m.

Guests at the Spring Craft Show can help local charities like Aid in Milan and Saline Area Social Services by bidding on gift baskets in the silent auction of voting on gift baskets with their hard-earned money.

Nina Pemberton, of Aid In Milan, said her group needs assistance at this time of year.

"Everybody wants to give at Christmas, and we're grateful for that. But at this time of year, people are planning for spring break and prom and graduation and they forget a little bit about us. But our needs are as great as ever," she said.

We're Live Blogging from the Spring Craft Show

The crowds are swarming at the Saline Spring Craft Show at Saline Middle School today.

We’ll be live blogging from the show until its close, at 3 p.m.

The parking lots were full at 11 a.m. and guests were being directed to park across the street.

Artist Lisa Robideau, one of 135 vendors at the show, said the crowd has really picked up since this morning. She said that there were a lot of “lookers,” early in the day. But customers are beginning to shell out the green for her one-of-a-kind lawn art.

The Easter Bunny is here until 2 p.m.  Kids can also engage in activities and receive free caricatures courtesy of Debra Adamcik.
