Is Your Dog a Star in the Making?

The Humane Society of Huron Valley will be celebrating the 33rd Annual Walk and Wag, dog walk and family fun day on May 19 at Rolling Hill Park in Ypsilanti this year. HSHV is currently searching for a "Celebrity Spokesdog" to be the goodwill ambassador for the 2012 Walk and Wag.

The Walk and Wag is the largest annual fundraiser for HSHV, featuring doggie games and contests, prizes, animal-themed merchandise, family-friendly activities and for the first time, this year’s event will also feature a morning 5k run. All dogs are welcome to participate with their owners.

Does your dog have what it takes to be our “Celebrity Spokesdog?" The winning dog should be an alumnus of the Humane Society of Huron Valley, be friendly toward people and other animals, well-mannered, and available to attend media events and Walk & Wag on Saturday, May 19..

The winning canine will have his or her likeness featured on event posters and brochures and will be celebrated on our web page and in our newsletter. But best of all, the 2012 Celebrity Spokesdog will be highlighted at the Walk & Wag festivities at the Rolling Hills Park, in front of hundreds of adoring doggie-friends.

Spokesdog Rules and Restrictions:

Your dog must have been adopted from the Humane Society of Huron Valley, and be available to attend media events and Walk & Wag on Saturday, May 19, 2012.

Visit http://www.hshv.org/spokesdog and follow the instructions on the entry page. After submitting your $15 application fee you will be directed to a thank you page where you will find a link where you can submit your essay and photo.

You may also enter via postal mail.

Completed applications must be received by Jan. 23, 2012. Send a picture of your dog along with a $15 donation and a short essay (250 words or less) telling us why your special pooch should be the 2012 Walk & Wag Celebrity Spokesdog to:
