Try some of these weather-proof ideas to engage the kids this weekend.

This weekend starts the beginning of spring break for many area children.  Don’t let the boredom set in early.  Keep them engaged with some of the activities we have compiled that are happening around town.  Many of them are free…so grab the kids and go.

Meet the Easter Bunny at Briarwood Mall

Where/when:  Briarwood Mall, April 1 – Easter, Monday-Saturday 11 -8 p.m., Sunday 11 -6 p.m.

Why go:  The Easter Bunny makes his debut this Friday.  Dress the kids up in their Easter best and head over for a photo op to remember.

Kids Building Clinic: Planter Basket

Where/when:  Home Depot, Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Why go:  Get ready for spring and learn to work with tools by building a planter basket with the help of the experts at Home Depot. Geared toward children ages 5-12.

Pricing:  Free!

Where/when: Maplewood Lanes, Saturday, April 2, 12:30 – 2 p.m.

Why go: Let bronze certified instructor, Doug McIntire, teach you how to improve you bowling game.  Open to all ages.  Call 517-403-3645 to register.

Where/when: Saline District Library, Thursday, March 31, 3 p.m.

Why go:  Make your Tigers gear for the new season while eating hot dogs. Aimed at students in grades 6-12.
