The Weather

It's going to be another warm one, but we might be seeing the start of a cool down. Weather.com forecasts a high 89 with potential for strong, scattered thunderstoms Tuesday. The chances of stormy weather increase as we get later into the afternoon and early evening, with potential for severe weather. The forecast for the rest of the week calls for highs in the mid-80s.

You know about Jack and the Beanstalk, but how about Jack and the Beantin? The Saline Area Players are preparing for the interactive and silly production, set to run at the , Sept 23-25 and Oct. 2. Autitions take place from 2-4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, and 7-9 p.m., Monday, Aug. 29, at the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce, 141 E. Michigan Ave. In particular, the players seek a wandering minstrel who can play the lute or banjo, and another performer adept at sound effects. Puppets Come to Life at the Library

Students have been been visiting the , where they have been reading scripts and designing and making puppets to fit the characters in the scripts. Tuesday at 11 a.m., the puppets will come to live in a free puppet show at the library.

Associated Spring Wins MIOSHA Award

The Michigan Occupational Safety and Health Administration will present the Michigan SHARP Award to the Saline Division of Associated Spring. The award, called a "confirmation that a company has achieved safety and health excellence far beyond their peers," will be presented at 10:25 a.m. Thursday at 1445 Barnes Ct., in Saline.
