The Weather

It feels like cider and donuts weather. Expect more chilly weather and more rain. Weather.com calls for a high of 71 with a few isolated thunderstorms in the afternoon and perhaps a few in the evening, too. The sun will rise at 7:09 a.m. and set at 7:56 p.m. It could be a wet one when the Hornets kick off at 7 p.m. at Ypsilanti-Lincoln.

It was another slow day in varsity sports. The Hornets girls' cross country team ran at Huron Meadows Metropark in the Early Bird Invitational. Gloria Park was the fastest Hornet. See the .

Downtown Saline should be hopping tonight. Two Twelve Arts Center hosts a reception for . Meanwhile, Mac's is hosting a tailgate party and Dan's is having a luau.

Hornets On The Road

Saline bounced back from a rough opening week with a convincing win over Ypsilanti last Friday. Now it's time to take the show on the road. They visit Ypsilanti-Lincoln tonight. The Railsplitters opened the season with a 27-0 win over Belleville and beat Ann Arbor Huron 27-10 in week two. The Hornets spent the first decade of the new century pounding the Railsplitters. In fact, Saline hasn't lost to the Railsplitters since 1987. Regardless, tonight's game will be a test for the Hornets.

Coleman's Corn Maze is Open

In another sure sign of the changing seasons, Coleman's Corn Maze, located at 12758 Jordan Rd., Saline, is open for the season. The maze is open from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday, and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday. Flashlights are required after dark. Admission is $9 for people 11 and older and $5 for children 5-10. Children four and younger get in free. For more, visit the corn maze website.
