The Foundation for Saline Area Schools has kicked off its strategic grant campaign. The foundation hopes to raise $70,000 that will be used by Saline Area Schools to purchase new classroom libraries that are part of a new literacy initiative at the school. Authors from Saline Share Mysteries, Ghost Stories at the Library

Two 1984 Saline High School graduates who've gone on to become tonight to share their mysteries and ghost stories. The free event, geared toward young readers and parents, is led by Jennifer Allison and Lauren Hulten Thomas.

Tracking The Hornets

Emily White and the Saline Hornets placed fourth in the Division 1 state finals at the Meadows at Grand Valley State University, according to AnnArbor.com. Emily White placed fifth and earned all-state honors. Justin Barnes considered his full-on assault on opposing football teams, rushing for more than 200 yards and six touchdowns in Friday night. Saline still has a chance to make the playoffs with a win Friday at Novi. The the River Rat Invitational. with Elianna Shwayder taking first overall. The girls' volleyball team was shorthanded, but the silver bracket in their weekend tournament. Two Saline boats won silver medals as in Columbus. The at Eastern Michigan University, which will host the state championships in a month, and won all three relay events.
