Sports Season Kicks Off This Week

School is still a few weeks away, but the Saline High School sports season gets underway this week. The girls’ golf team kicks off its season Thursday morning at the Chelsea Invitational. The boys’ varsity soccer team is at Portage Central Saturday morning. The girls’ varsity volleyball team is also at Portage Central Saturday morning. The boys’ tennis team is at Ann Arbor Pioneer for a tournament Saturday morning. For more on the Saline High School teams, visit the Hornets’ website.

Magic at the Library

Bring a chair, blanket and bug spray and at the Saline District Library at 7 p.m. tonight. The event is held to celebrate accomplishments during the summer reading program.

Sitting Down

Saline resident Jackie Adams was featured in this Detroit Free Press story about the perils of sitting down too much. According to the story, research released last fall showed that women who sat for more than six hours a day had a 37 percent increased risk of premature death.

 

Today's Good Morning Saline greeting was given by Saline City Council member Brian Marl and Heather Kellstrom, Director of Instructional Technology at Saline Area Schools. They were telling us about  It takes place from 1-4 p.m.
