Get Out: Five Things To Do This Weekend

Weekend features Celtic fun, big band music and more!

Summer is a busy time of year, and Saline-Milan Patch wants to make sure you know what is going on, when it is happening, why you should go and how much it will cost you and your family. Enjoy this week’s activities and Get Out!

1. 

When/Where: 6:30 p.m., Thursday, July 7 at 6:30 PM at Mac’s Acadian Seafood Shack, located at 104 E. Michigan Ave. in downtown Saline.

Why Go: Enjoy an appetizer, main course and dessert of Celtic cuisine. Each course is paired with a different Scotch Whiskey. Reservations required. Partial proceeds go to the Saline Celtic Festival.

Cost: $50

2. 

When/Where:  7 p.m., Thursday, on South Ann Arbor Street, just south of Michigan Avenue in downtown Saline.

Why Go: This week tap your toes to the sounds from the Saline Big Band.  Art on the Go will be available with kids activities as well.

Cost:  Free.

3.  Celtic Festival Pub Night

When/Where: 6 p.m. - midnight, Friday, July 8 at in Saline, located at Bennett and Mills streets.


Why Go:  Music and Dance Workshops, beer tent, live music and Mr. Pretty Legs contest.

Cost: $5 at the gate.

4.  Saline Celtic Festival

When/Where: 8:30 a.m. to 11 p.m. Saturday at Mill Pond Park in Saline.

Why Go: Music, dance, Highland Dance Competition, Highland Athletics, First Annual Feis: A Celebration of Irish Dance and Song, survivor tournament, Rugby, Pipe bands, merchants, textile tent, jousting, sheepherding, animals, wee folk activities, Liveng History, Haggis Hurl, Golf chipping, Celtic Clobber, Millie the River Monster and more.

Cost: 12 and under are free, youth (13-17) $5, adults $15, seniors are $10 and veterans are $10. After 8 p.m., admission is $5. Active miltary service men and women enjoy free admission. 

5.  Saline Relay For Life Bake Sale

When/Where: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at Tractor Supply Company, 111 Sage Court, Saline.

Why Go: Stock up on baked goods for great prices, while supporting the Saline Relay For Life team from Keystone Community Church. All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society Saline Relay For Life which takes place July 30-31.

Cost: Free to attend. Items vary.
