The overnight storm is expected to dump up to two inches of rain per hour on Washtenaw County until 2 a.m.

The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for Washtenaw County until 6 a.m. Thursday.

At 11:53 p.m. Wednesday, National Weather Service Doppler Radar indicated thunderstorms with torrential rainfall across the area. Radar estimates more than three inches of rain have fallen in the northwest section of the county. Additional heavy rainfall is expected until 2 a.m., falling at a rate up to two inches per hour.

People are urged to use caution, especially since it's difficult to recognize the perils of flooding at night, according to the flood warning.
