The road will close between M-14 and US-23 starting July 12 at 10 p.m.

Eastbound I-94 will be closed throughout the weekend in Ann Arbor between M-14 and US-23 starting July 12 at 10 p.m.

The freeway will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday, July 15.

According to MDOT, traffic will be detoured using US-23 and M-14. All ramps at US-23 and I-94, and at M-14 and I-94, will be open.

"Motorists are advised to plan extra time when traveling on freeways around Ann Arbor this weekend," a press release states. "Alternate routes are strongly advised during the closure."

THis project is part of a larger project to improve I-94 in Ann Arbor. MDOT states I-94 will be closed, one direction at a time, over four weekends.

The closures will not occur during special events or holidays.
