DPW Solves Woodland Drive Water Issue

A "boil water" alert is not being issued

Workers from Saline's were able to solve a water issue without issuing a "boil water" advisory for businesses in the Woodland Drive area.

Early in the afternoon Wednesday, the DPW workers repairing a fire hydrant experienced a valve failure, according DPW Director Jeff Fordice. The failure caused low pressure in the system along Woodland Drive between Maple and Textile roads.

"We did not have sufficient water service in the area. But about 5:45 p.m. we were able to restore service," Fordice said. "We were able to maintain the pressure in the distribution system enough to avoid a boil water advisory."
