Saline Girls Place Third in State Cross Country Championship

Hornet boys also made a strong showing, placing sixth in the Division 1 finals.

The Saline High School girls cross country team fell just short of its No. 2 ranking going into the Division 1 State Finals Saturday, placing third, just behind No. 1-ranked Birmingham Seaholm and No. 3-ranked Grosse Pointe South.

Junior Elianna Shwayder finished fifth overall, according to official Michigan High School Athletic Association (MHSAA) results.

The Saline boys team took sixth place overall at the state meet, with senior Grant Praschan leading his team at 12th place overall.
