Bargain Hunters May Find Deals at Consignment Sale

Saturday is the final day of the One Week Boutique consignment sale at First United Methodist Church in Saline.

Bargain hunters might want to check out the , 1200 N. Ann Arbor St., Saturday.

From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. the church hosts the "One Week Boutique" children's and maternity consignment sales event.

Admission is free.

The event started Thursday night with a special pre-sale for volunteers, teachers and first-time moms and opened to the general public Friday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Some proceeds from the sale will benefit the Saline Twirlettes trip to the national competition at the University of Notre Dame.

The sale offers thousands hundreds of gently-used items, including clothing, games, books, toys, strollers, bouncers, bedding, nursery supplies and more.

"Basically, if you need anything for a child and you don't want to spend a fortune, we have it here," said Donna Pepper, a Saline resident who is running the sale.

Pepper said sales were brisk Friday morning.

"We were swamped for a while. We thought it might really pick up again after school hours, but the rain seemed to keep people away," Pepper said. 

She expects a good crowd Saturday, as the garage sale hunters take to the streets.
