Alley Project Ribbon Cutting and Naming Contest

Here’s an update on what is happening with the S. Ann Arbor Street alley project!

Naming Contest
A contest is being held to name the alley. What do you think it should be called? Something historic?  Something fun?Submit your entry by using this link:  namecontests.com/c19vmhwr

We are in the process of collecting all suggestions, the community will be invited to vote online, and the top ten names will be submitted to a committee made up of community members who will decide the winner. The winning name will be placed on the new decorative arch (see the arch in progress below).

Installation and Ribbon Cutting
As part of the Alley Improvement project, the new entrance arch is being installed on Monday, August 5th and a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony is schedule for Wednesday, August 7th at 6 pm to celebrate. Come on down and be part of the ribbon cutting and then plan to dine at one of our great restaurants in Downtown Saline! Also see the private improvements in the alley made by Mangiamos Italian Grill and Brecon Grille.

We want to recognize those who helped make this project a reality including the “Let’s Save Michigan” campaign (and all of you who voted for the project), Rotary Club of Saline and the District Rotary, City of Saline, and the Saline Main Street Design Team.
