Which Saline Businesses Should We Write About on Patch?

The holiday shopping season is in full swing, and we want to profile a few of our readers' favorite local spots.

Patch is a place where users decide what's important to their community, so why should we tell you which local businesses to pay attention to?

Instead, you tell us.

As many of us spend more money in December than any other month, we want to highlight the great local businesses in Saline. We're asking you to spend the next few days telling us which businesses should be featured in Saline Patch this holiday season.

Here's how:

  • Leave a comment on this article telling us which business (or businesses) you think deserve a feature story in Saline Patch.
  • Post a photo of something awesome you bought (dinner, an accessory, a massage gift certificate) from a Saline business. Do that by clicking the "Upload Photos and Videos" button.
  • Review your favorite businesses in our Patch Places directory.

You have until 11:59 p.m. on Nov. 30 to make your voice heard. Restaurants, services, shops—they're all fair game, as long as they're local.

When all is said and done, we'll take the top 4 vote-getters, dig a little deeper and feature one per week every Sunday in December, starting Dec. 9.

I love going into Cobblestone Rose! It reminds me of shopping in Harbor Springs minus not having Little Traverse Bay nearby. As the seasons change my girl buddy and I plan dates to visit there after work. Tonight we'll be visiting CR and likely purchase a Christmas decoration or a gift then on to Mac's for a light dinner.

How about Spotted Dog Winery?! Love that place and it's such a cool spot for a girl's night or making purchases for holiday gifts.

Thanks for your suggestion, Raye. It's nice to have great Christmas shopping options right in town.

How about Curves? Not only is it an exercise place for women, but they also sponsor many projects to help the community. I have participated in food drives, coat and hat drives, gathering items for the EVH, etc. They give back to the community while also offering a place for exercise and socialization.

I love Accent Jewelry and I never see anything written about them. They make their jewelry themselves. It is just beautiful.. or they will create something for the customer..they do a great job.

These are great suggestions, keep them coming!

I would love to see a story about Voila Salon & Spa and their 10 year anniversary. We have a lot to thank the community for and are having product and service giveaways at our customer appreciation party on Dec. 14.

What about all of the "Best in Saline" winners for 2012? I would love to see an article about Northstar Montessori. I feel so lucky to be in the company of such genuine, educated and caring people. Each and every teacher go above and beyond to nuture and educate young lives.

I would love to see an article on Wags to Whiskers in Saline on Michigan Avenue. Super nice, super helpful people. Owned locally. Work really hard at not only keeping the store full of really good stuff for our pets, but also help the community through donation drives for various animal charities.

You should definitely profile Maplewood Lanes! Great people run the business, and great bowlers come from here. It is a great place to hang out and have a good time for people of all ages and you are always greeted with a smile unlike the bigger bowling centers in the Ann Arbor area. It has a background of pure American capitalism and shows how small businesses can survive and even thrive while we watch other small businesses flounder on Michigan avenue.

I would love to see an article about the Rec Center. This is a great community gathering place that promotes fitness, health, and fun for the entire family. It is a great place for kids to play pick up basketball, volleyball, swim. Teens and adults can lift weights, participate in a wide variety of fitness classes like spinning, Zumba, yoga, TRX, pilates, water aerobics, boot camp, jujistu, kickboxing and more!

I really want to know what's going into that big empty space downtown across from Drowsy Parrot. That place has been empty for years and all of a sudden there's activity there! I think Saline would like to know - and maybe there's be good gift opportunities to help support a new business!

While everyone is shopping for the holidays, please take time to remember the people of Saline in need. Consider donating non-perishables to Saline Area Social Services. I realize they have limited hours so feel free to drop off your donations at Saline ATA Martial Arts at 750 Woodland next to Maplewood Lanes. They will be collecting through the holidays. Merry Christmas from Saline ATA Martial Arts!

My daughter loves going to Saline ATA. It has done wonders for her confidence. I also love shopping at Cobblestone Rose and getting a treat from My Favorite Cafe.

I own and operate Burton Orofacial Myology, LLC located in the Liberty School Building. I have been opened for over a year and many people in the community still don't know that I'm here. I provide therapy for thumb sucking and other habits, issues with tongue thrusting, tongue-tie, facial muscle imbalance, eating and drinking problems, along with residual effects of mouth breathing. My therapy can also strengthen the tongue and facial muscles to help in clarity, fluency and quality of sound production that aids with speech therapy. Most of my referrals are from Orthodontist, Speech Therapist, ENT, Pedodontist, Pediatricians and Dentist but a referral is not necessary. More information at www.burtonom.com.
