Mangiamo Italian Grill Offers Good Food, Friendly Atmosphere
People of all ages will enjoy the cuisine and feel of this young restaurant.
The Mangiamo Italian Grill, located at 107 W. Michigan Ave. in Saline, is a recent addition to the restaurant scene in town. It opened early in 2011 after an extensive revamping was were done mainly by the new owners and family. The restaurant has enjoyed regular customers since it opened.
“We really try to provide a good product for a low price. We have customers that will get stuck on one thing. They mean to try other things, but every time they come in, they just can’t resist the lure of their usual order,” said Pete Toarmina, co-owner of Mangiamo.
Mangiamo offers a large variety of entrees, ranging from salads and burgers to Chicken Marsala and Veal Parmesan. The food is well-prepared, extremely tasteful and in abundant proportions. The restaurant offers an excellent Chicago-style pizza along with other crusts. The menu also has grilled subs available. All of the food is priced affordably and most will leave you taking home leftovers.

“Almost everybody leaves with a carryout box. We have a large number of parents come in with kids. We love to see the kids; children love watching their pizza being made,” said Toarmina.
Mangiamo offers an upbeat atmosphere whether you are enjoying the bar or dining with your family in the restaurant. The bar offers a variety of liquors as well as different beers on tap, some of which come from a unique ice fountain on the counter. The music is more casual than in the restaurant and guests can enjoy sports on the high definition televisions.

The ice cream parlor next door to Mangiamo is attached to the restaurant and is available to patrons as well as passers-by. Mickey’s Downtown should be familiar to Saline residents; it is a smaller version of Mickey’s Dairy Twist in the west end of town.
