Great Escape: Crazy Wisdom Book Store and Tea Room in Ann Arbor

Sometimes, a bookstore is about more than selling books. And sometimes, a tearoom … Well, there’s not a lot of things cooler than a tearoom.
The Crazy Wisdom Book Store and Tea Room is one of those little places that makes you glad to be so close to Ann Arbor.
The Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tea Room is located at 114 S. Main St. in the heart of downtown Ann Arbor.

Guests can relax on sofas or sit at tables, where they can relax and unstress. The tearoom serves more than 100 varieties of tea, including Roobios, Chinese green teas, Japanese green teas, several white teas and black teas. The tearoom also serves a variety of organic and fair trade coffees that are roasted locally. The menu also includes appetizers, entrees and deserts.
The bookstore is a far cry from the big-box behemoths like Barnes and Noble or Borders. Crazy Wisdom’s selection includes 200 categories, though, ranging from affirmation to Zen.

The tearoom hosts live music from 8:30-10:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturdays. Its calendar is loaded with events like this Saturday’s drop-in tarot and astrology readings from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and psychic readings from 2-5 p.m.
It’s about a healthy mind, body and spirit at Crazy Wisdom Bookstore and Tea Room. And who doesn’t need a little of that?
