Cancun Mexican Restaurant Coming Soon to Saline
The new restaurant will be located in the old Signature Grill building.
A new banner is up at the site of a new Mexican restaurant planned for 405 E. Michigan Ave.
The banner reads, “Coming Soon! Cancun Mexican Restaurant.”
According to AnnArbor.com, Cancun Mexican Grill will be the first Washtenaw County location for the Kentucky-based restaurant that has six Michigan locations.

The building has been owned since Signature Grill closed in 2009.
Saline Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Larry Osterling said news of the restaurant is a positive development for Saline.

“Obviously, it’s great for that corner. That’s been a difficult location to fill and maintain. I wish them well and hope they have the products and can establish a following,” said Osterling. “It’s one of those entities along Michigan Avenue that needs to be filled for Saline to be the vibrant and active town we want it to be.”
Osterling said he was confident a restaurant can succeed at the location.
“Working with the community, the landlord and the chamber of commerce will be key,” Osterling said.
The property is owned by Dean Zahn Properties. The 3,100-square-foot building sits on a small parcel with its own parking lot.
Osterling said there are a few vacant commercial properties needing tenants east of downtown. The property was listed with Swisher Commercial.
According to AnnArbor.com, the restaurant is schedule to open sometime this summer.
