Ele's Place Plans 5th Annual Ann Arbor Spring Reception

Sue Snyder, Michigan's First Lady, is guest of honor and Lloyd Carr, former U of M football coach, is keynote speaker.

Michigan's First Lady Sue Snyder is guest of honor and former University of Michigan football coach Lloyd Carr is keynote speaker when Ele's Place hosts its Fifth Annual Spring Reception from 6 - 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 10 at the Travis Pointe Country Club.

The event is presented by Kleinschmidt Agency and Auto-Owners Insurance. Reservations require a $100 minimum contribution. Cocktails and Hor D’oeuvres will be provided. The event is chaired by Ken and Kristen Lingenfelter.

“We’re pleased to partner with Auto-Owners to support hundreds of children who will experience the devastating loss of a loved one,” said Steve Kleinschmidt, President of Kleinschmidt Agency. “Our support of Ele’s Place allows the critical first steps of healing to occur naturally within a healthy community, and we’re proud to lead that effort.”

Ele’s Place is a community based nonprofit dedicated to creating awareness of and support for grieving children and their families.  Through peer support groups, Ele’s Place helps children learn how to cope with the death of a parent, sibling or other loved one.  Each week an average of 130 grieving children, teens and their families attend peer support programs at no cost. Ele’s Place also provides support groups in schools and serves as a resource and referral agency for anyone who wants to help a grieving child. For more information, visit www.elesplace.org.
