ViewFinder: Saline Fiddlers Take It Inside To Kick Off Summer Music Series

The Saline Summer Music Series was moved to Liberty School because of the rain Friday.

Weather brought the season's first Saline Summer Music Series concert indoors Friday evening, but once the Saline Fiddlers started playing, nobody seemed to care.

The show was set to take place on South Ann Arbor Street, but with a steady rain falling Friday afternoon, it was moved to .

The Saline Fiddlers played a 26-song set that featured old standbys such as Lollipop, bluegrass classics like Bill Monroe's "Wheel Hoss," and more modern numbers, like a medley of Michael Jackson tunes.

"It was fantastic. We brought all the people from downtown," said Gretchen Waters. "It's nice to be outdoors, but actually the group sounds even better indoors, especially to vocals. I thought it was a fabulous show tonight."

Recent Saline High School graduate Rachel Bonds, in her final two months with the Saline Fiddlers, said she band didn't mind bringing the production indoors.

"It went really, really well. It would have been awesome to play outdoors. But this was still great," Bonds said.
