Saline Fiddlers Open Summer Music Series Tonight

The Saline Fiddlers are releasing their 10th CD, Breaking Free, at tonight's free concert in downtown Saline.

Summer's here and the time is right for dancing in the streets.

The Saline Fiddlers kick off the Saline Music Series 2012 in downtown Saline from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, june 14. The free concert series takes place on South Ann Arbor Street, between Michigan Avenue and Henry Street.

For the Saline Fiddlers, Thursday's concert is extra special. The group, which dubs itself America's premier youth fiddling band, is releasing its 10th CD, "Breaking Free."

The title is dedicated to all Saline Fiddler alumni. 

As always, the Saline Fiddlers will draw a big crowd so people are reminded to arrive early for the best seating.

The Saline Fiddlers have also released their 2012 Summer travel plans which takes them on their "Song of the Southeast Tour" June 26 to July 7. It will be the first shows in Georgia, South Carolina and West Virginia for the Saline Fiddlers. They will revisit Virginia at two different venues. 

The Saline Fiddlers is an all high school age member fiddling show band that performs a variety of music, song and dance. They are a 501(c)3 non-profit music education and performance organization that is supported by tuition, donations, fees for performances and CD sales. Since 1994 the Saline Fiddlers have astounded audiences from coast to coast, overseas and even the Whitehouse three times!

There is no concert Aug. 9, which is the weekend of Summerfest.

In case of inclement weather, shows will be moved to Liberty School at 7265 N. Ann Arbor St.

The concert series is sponsored by Salne Main Street, the Saline Downtown Merchants Association, the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce and City of Saline.
