Joan and Marcus Belgrave Show Nearly Sold Out

The 2012 Music Under the Arch Concert Series wraps up Thursday night with the highly anticpated peformance of Joan and Marcus Belgrave.

the downtown concert series at at Stone Arch Arts and Events hit its stride with the much-talked-about performance by the well known Detroit artists.

Organizers say this year's show is nearly sold out.

Joan and Marcus Belgrave, two of Detroit’s masterful artists, will take the stage together to bring you jazz and blues at its very finest! Vocalist, producer, songwriter, Joan’s powerful voice and jazzy/blues style will blend with Marcus’s legendary jazz trumpet to take you on a musical journey from the ’30s to the present,including sweet love songs, sorrowful blues, and swinging beats. Named the 2009 Kresge Eminent Artist by The Kresge Foundation, Marcus is best known for his longtime association in playing with Ray Charles, Charles Mingus, Wynton Marsalis, and the Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra. He is a true renaissance man who can boast most any credential–trumpeter, composer, arranger, educator, recording artist, producer.
