1. LIGHT THE WAY GALA

Ann Arbor, Saturday, 6 p.m.

Why Go: A great dinner. Dancing. A chance to bid on great items being auctioned off, including an iPad and Red Wings tickets. And when you’re having a great time, you’ll feel good knowing you are helping the Greater Milan Area Foundation raise money to do the great work it does around town.

2. MUSIC UNDER THE ARCH

Where/When: The Stone Arch, 117 S. Ann Arbor Street, in Saline, Thursday, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy a night of terrific “Celticana” music from Bill Brandt and Sarana Verlin. Their music is a blend of Celtic, rock, pop, folk and alt-country. There will also be art on display.

Pricing: $20 for reserved seating, $15 for general admission and $10 for students

3. SALINE WINTER FARMERS MARKET 

Where/When: 199 W. Michigan Ave., Saline, Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.

Why Go: Farm-fresh eggs. Broiler chickens. Fresh bread. Yum.

Pricing: Free entry, but it’s a market, so bring your wallet.

4. HEIDELBERG CHARITY POKER ROOM

Where/When: Heidelberg, 215 N. Main (3rd Floor), Ann Arbor, 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.

Why Go: Texas hold’em and blackjack for players of all levels. Dinner and other specials. Proceeds donated to a different charity each week.

Pricing: $10-500 buy-in for poker, $2-20 hands in blackjack, $40 buy-in for Texas hold’em tournaments.

 5. 212 ART RECEPTION — KAT CAMPAU’S HAWAIIAN HOLIDAY

Where/When: 212 Art Center, at 216 W. Michigan Ave., from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.

Why Go: Because even with the recent thaw, it’s February in Michigan, and Campau’s vibrant fiber art might be just what you need to melt the chill away. Campau’s show runs until Feb. 28.

Pricing: Free.
