We've assembled a weekly calendar of kid-friendly activities and new places to try out with children.

Each week, we'll give you the info on the five best family activities or events for the week.

Pick and choose from this week’s array of events.

1. BOOK BABIES

Where/When: At the Saline District Library, 555 N. Maple Rd., Saline.

Why Go: It’s a great way to expose your children to books and the library. Each child must have an adult lap to sit upon.

Pricing: Free, but registration is required.

2.  OPEN WALLY BALL

Where/When: At the Saline Rec Center on Saturday from 2-4 p.m.

Why Go: Because it’s wallyball! It’s great family fun for adults and kids, ages 10 and up.

Pricing: Free for Rec Center members. There is a charge of $5 for non members.

3. MILAN LITTLE GIRLS CHEERING CLINIC

Where/When: Milan Middle School, from 6 to 8 p.m., Feb. 21-22.

Why Go: Teach your little girl how to show Big Red spirit in these two clinics, and then watch them cheer on the Big Reds in a performance at Milan High School Feb. 24

Pricing: $45 (includes a snack and t-shirt).

4. KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS CHICKEN DINNER

Where/When: Father Joe Family Center at Immaculate Conception Church in Milan, 4:30 to 6:45 p.m.

Why Go:  For one, it’s an inexpensive way to feed the family with roast chicken, Swiss steak, mashed potatoes, vegetables and more. For two, you’ll be helping the Knights of Columbus with their charitable activities. They recently presented Aid in Milan with 50 new winter coats.

Pricing: $8 for adults, $4 for children (Children under 12 eat free). 

5.  41ST ANNUAL TRAIN SHOW AND SALE

Where/When: Saline Middle School,  7190 N. Maple Rd., Saline. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday.

Why Go: Good old fashioned childhood fun. Model trains will be laid out on 400 tables

Pricing: $6 for adults. Children Under 10 free with paid adult. Scouts in uniform are also free.
