Deals Galore at Children’s Creative Learning Center Annual Sale

Saturday's sale was held in perfect weather.

Many families participated and attended the Annual Garage Sale at Children’s Creative Learning Center in Saline on Saturday.

What started off a few years ago as a rummage sale has turned into a family event with a bake sale, plant and flower sale, face painting and balloon animals. Funds raised from the event go directly to the school.

“The money will go toward our new school age playground and classroom, as well as updates to the Baby House playground,” said Jiemin Jacobson, CCLC owner. “The turnout today has been very good.”

Jacobson attributes the success of the sale to the families who donate.

Referring to the bake sale, she said, “Look how much love was put into those cupcakes!"

Cupcakes, cookies and other goods sold for $1 each, cups of lemonade were fifty cents.

Children’s Creative Learning Center is a year-round child care, pre-school and before and after-school care center, and is one of the only schools in the area that includes a “Chinese as a second language” class as part of the regular tuition.  Students performed a song in Chinese at the beginning of the sale.

Regan Barkel, 3, is a student at the school. Barkel had a black spider painted on the left side of his face.

“My favorite part of today is the face painting and the lemonade,” he said.

Large and small items were for sale. For larger items that do not sell, like strollers and car seats, they will still be made available throughout the week. For more information or to see what items are still available, call the school at 734-429-9292.
