Saline H.S. to Host 2014 Women's Water Polo Finals

Saline High School earned the right to host the 2014 Michigan State Women’s Water Polo Final Tournament, to be held May 30 and 31. The Hornets successfully hosted women’s regional tournament last year, so this honor comes as no surprise.

The state finals features the finest teams in high school water polo and the best competition in women’s water sports, the culmination of a season of competition, as well as the survival of district and regional playoff elimination. Teams from Rockford and Okemos are perennial dominant forces, but more recently Ann Arbor area teams have come on to become equally competitive. In 2013 Huron and Skyline beat Okemos in the state rankings; teams across the  state are more evenly matched in 2014 than ever before.

The level of athletic competition in water polo is unmatched in water sports, so even novice observers are drawn into the intensity and skill level of the competitors at this level. More than one hundred players, coaches, and family members will descend on the area as part of the competition.
