DESCRIPTION:The Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) and the Alzheimer&rsqu
 o\;s Association - Greater Michigan&nbsp\;Chapter will host a free train
 ing &nbsp\;program for families caring for a loved one with a dementia r
 elated illness\, such as Alzheimer&rsquo\;s disease on Wednesdays for si
 x weeks\, beginning February 6\, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Eva
 ngelical Homes of Michigan Memory Support Center at Brecon Village (101 
 Brecon Drive\, Saline\, MI&nbsp\; 48176).&nbsp\;The Creating Confident C
 aregivers&trade\;&nbsp\;(CCC) program has been proven to reduce caregive
 r stress by empowering caregivers with useful tools and information.&nbs
 p\; &nbsp\;\nThe CCC&trade\; trainings are held for two hours\, once a w
 eek for six weeks\, at various locations in southeastern Michigan. Careg
 ivers are encouraged to attend all six classes in order to complete the 
 training. &nbsp\;Onsite respite care is also be available to participant
 s free of charge.&nbsp\; All materials\, flyers\, and training books are
  provided by the AAA 1-B\, and there is no cost for the caregiver to att
 end this training.&nbsp\; The class is limited to 12 participants.&nbsp\
 ; Up to three members from one family can attend a training together.&nb
 sp\;\n&ldquo\;The CCC&trade\; program is unique because it is designed t
 o address very specific challenges that caregivers of a person with deme
 ntia experience\,&rdquo\; said CCC&trade\; Trainer Cathy Backos\, LPN\, 
 and Respite Care Manager at the Area Agency on Aging 1-B. &ldquo\;Caregi
 vers should not view this as a support group\, but as an opportunity to 
 learn new information and strategies that will make their job easier and
  more fulfilling.&rdquo\;\nThis program is supported\, in part\, by the 
 U.S. Administration on Aging through its Alzheimer&rsquo\;s Disease Demo
 nstration Grants to States\, the Michigan Office of Services to the Agin
 g\, the Area Agency on Aging 1-B\, The Alzheimer&rsquo\;s Association &n
 dash\; Greater Michigan Chapter\, and the Alzheimer&rsquo\;s Association
  &ndash\; Michigan Great Lakes Chapter.&nbsp\;\nRegistration is required
