Joan and Marcus Belgrave Show Nearly Sold Out

The Belgraves perform the season's final concert of the 2012 Music Under the Arch series Thursday night.

The 2012 Music Under the Arch Concert Series wraps up Thursday night with the highly anticpated peformance of Joan and Marcus Belgrave. Last year, the downtown concert series at at Stone Arch Arts and Events hit its stride with the much-talked-about performance by the well known Detroit artists. Organizers say this year's show is nearly sold out.  If you haven't reserved your seats yet, you might want to do it now," said Becky Pazkowski. Test Drive a Ford to Raise Money for Saline Area Schools Musicians

The second annual Drive One 4 Ur School test drive event, sponsored by Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company, takes place at Harvest Elementary Saturday.

Test drive a vehicle from Briarwood Ford during a special event at Harvest Elementary Saturday and the Ford Motor Company will donate $20 to Saline Area Schools music programs. Saline Music Parents have partnered with Briarwood Ford and Ford Motor Company in hopes of raising $6,000 for Saline Area Schools music programs during the second annual Drive One 4 Ur School test drive event. Last year's event was a rousing success, raising $8,000 for school music programs. "It's fantastic. We used a lot of the money last year for our Disney World trip this year," said Nate Lampman, Director of Bands at Saline High School. "This year, we're hoping to use the money to enhance the classroom by bringing in guest musicians and to provide scholarships. …

VIDEO: SHS Jazz Band Serves Hot Java Jump

Students from Saline High School and Saline Middle School performed at the Saline Jazz Bands Spring Concert May 2. The show, held at the Ellen Ewing Center for Performing Arts, featured the seventh and eight grade jazz bands from the middle school and the Saline High School Jazz Band. For the second to last song of the evening, the Saline High School jazz band performed Larry Neeck's Hot Java Jump. Director Nate Lampman invited members of the band to stand up and solo. This video features those solo performances. There are two upcoming opportunities to support the Saline Area Schools music program. Saline Schools Spring Arts Festival Continues Sunday

The festival continues from 1-8 p.m. Sunday at Saline High School.

The Saline Area Schools Spring Arts Festival continues at Saline High School Sunday. The show, which features the work of student artists from all of the Saline Area Schools buildings, runs from 1-8 p.m. "The art students and teachers in the Saline Area Schools have done it again—another incredible SAS Arts Festival! I make the same comment each year about the show, but it really is as professional as it gets," wrote Saline Assistant Superintendent Steve Laatsch on his blog. "The amount of time and energy both the students and teachers put in to making the show a success is really outstanding! Entries Sought for Student Film Festival in Adrian

The inaugural Lenawee Student Film Festival takes place at Adrian's annual Art-A-Licious Sept. 21-22

Entries are now being sought for the inaugural Lenawee Student Film Festival, which is scheduled to take place during downtown Adrian’s annual Art-A-Licious festival on Sept. 21-22. The festival is open to high school and college students ages 13-22. Any type of film or video may be entered, including drama, comedy, documentary, promotional and public service. All films must be suitable for a family audience — either G or PG-level. All entries must have begun filming after Sept. 1, 2011, and films must be submitted in DVD format. The entry deadline is Friday, June 1. Entries may be mailed to Art-A-Licious, P.O. Box 685, Adrian, MI 49221, or dropped off at the Adrian Public Library during normal library hours. Good Morning Saline, From Fiddlers ReStrung

The famous Saline band has its Spring Hometown concert at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at the Ellen Ewing Performing Arts Center.

Today's Good Morning Saline greeting is from the Fiddlers ReStrung, who host their Spring Hometown Concert on Saturday, April 21 at 6:30 p.m. in the Ellen A. Ewing Performing Arts Center at Saline High School. The concert also features guest performers Mike Block and Clay Ross. Also on the playbill are the fiddle clubs from the middle school.

VIDEO: Saline High School Band Marches At Disney World

220 members strong, the SHS Marching band represented the community well during its spring break trip to Florida.

The sounds of the Blue and Gold echoed at Walt Disney World in Orland, Fla., over spring break. On Tuesday, April 3, 2012, the 220 member Saline High School Marching Band performed for thousands of people from all over the world in the "Celebrate a Dream Come True" parade at the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. "The band members represented Saline High School, the City of Saline, and the State of Michigan very well in their performances, and with the positive and respectful attitude that they displayed to every person they came into contact with on the tour," said Nate Lampman, Director of Bands for Saline Area Schools. Saline Summer Music Concert Series Announced

This year's series of free concerts begins with the Saline Fiddlers and ends with Fiddlers ReStrung.

Opening Day is here. That mean’s summer isn’t far behind. And if it’s summer, that means music in downtown Saline every Thursday night. Downtown Director Art Trapp has finalized the lineup for the 2012 Summer Music Series. From 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday night, the Summer Music Series offers a free concert on South Ann Arbor Street, between Michigan Avenue and Henry Street. The series opens June 14 with the Saline Fiddlers and closes Aug. 16 with Fiddlers ReStrung.
