The Bling Thing to Close Doors Jan. 27

In a Facebook post, Anne Brandon, owner of The Bling Thing, announced she was closing her Michigan Avenue store on Jan. 27.

"We will be going back to our online business, and doing special events. Thank you to all of my friends, family, and loyal customers," wrote Brandon. "We had a year-to-year lease here, and opted not renew for 2012."

Brandon's online store can be found at www.theblingthing.com. She said she would continue to honor valid gift certificates.

"Just give us a call and we will give you a code to use on our websites," she posted on her blog.

Brandon said she will maintain a presence in downtown Saline, where she has a storage facility next to the Downtown Diner. She said she would continue to be a member of Saline Area Chamber of Commerce.

The Bling Thing sold fashionable and fun clothing and accessories. Brandon said she will continue to participate in local events as time permits.

the store is open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.
