Saline junior varsity men's 8 boat finished third in at the Columbus Ohio Regatta.

Saline's crew team was among 23 clubs from 16 cities in 4 states competing Saturday in the Columbus Fall Classic regatta hosted by the Westerville Rowing Association.

rowers competed in 11 of 41 events on the 4,000-meter course located at the Hoover Reservoir just north of Columbus in Westerville, Ohio. It was a perfect day for rowing with sunny skies and no wind and Saline’s men’s junior varsity 8 boat (Matt Fosdick, Jacob Carlson,

and Andrew Bonczyk and Heather Kiningham) took advantage of the beautiful weather to score another medal following last weekend’s silver medal at Orchard Lake. The JV men finished third at 15:14:06 to Westerville’s winning time of 14:15:82.

Saline’s men’s pair (Mitch Dellot and Brad Roberts), men’s junior varsity 4 (Ben Friman, Kyle Girvan, Nick Reuter and Andrew Bonczyk), Men’s varsity 4 (Alex Mundorf, Ryan Wellings, Jacob Carlson and Matt Fosdick) and men’s varsity 8 (Evan Medvec, Ryan Wellings, Brad Roberts, Mitch Dellot, Tommy Michaluk, Nate Pool, Alex Mundorf and Alyosha Makarov) all finished their events just out of medal reach with fourth place finishes.  Saline’s Women’s varsity 4, led by senior captain Katie Stimic, took 6th place out of 10 entries in a very competitive race for this young boat.
