Readers' Choice: Stonebridge Picked as Best Course in Saline

Stonebridge may feel like a private club, but it's a public course.

Saline Patch voters have selected Stonebridge Golf Club as the best golf course in Saline.

Stonebridge bested Brookside Golf Course by three votes in Readers' Choice poll voting that closed Friday morning.

Stonebridge Golf Club, opened in 1991, is an award-winning course designed by world renowned architect Arthur Hills. The course is nestled throughout the surrounding Stonebridge community and challenges its patrons with expansive water hazards and bunkers, as well as deceptive putting greens.

“I think the beauty and quality make Stonebridge a top-notch course.  It’s well designed to be challenging, but everyone can enjoy it,” co-owner Doug Mervis told Patch in an article published last year.

Mervis said noted that while Stonebridge offers a country club feel, it's a public course.

“I think in the Saline and Ann Arbor area, we could be the best-kept secret because everyone thinks we’re a country club. We’re open to the public and it’s an incredible course that everyone should try out,” said Mervis.
