Police Report: Saline Resident Reports Credit Card Fraud

The following reports are from Saline Police Department Records from Jan. 30 to Feb. 6. Arrests do not imply convications.

A 33-year-old Cottonwood Lane man reported that someone opened credit cards in his name and rang up more than $6,000 in charges. The man told he returned Saturday from a trip out of town and was surprised to find Radio Shack credit card in the mail, according to the police report. He phoned the bank Monday and learned a $1,000 charge was made on the card. He discovered a second credit card was authorized in his name and more than $5,000 in charges at the Apple store in Troy, according to police.

Mills Road Woman Arrested on Warrants

Saline Police arrested a 57-year-old Mills Road woman Feb. 2 on two misdemeanor warrants out of Pittsfield Township, according to police. She was arrested on charges of violating conditions of her release on retail fraud charges, according to police records. She was arrested at her home and turned over to Pittsfield Township police.

Car Windows Smashed in Front of Clark Street Apartments

A resident on the 200 block of Clark Street called police to report that the windows had been smashed out his 1992 Geo Prism. The 17-year-old owner told police he parked the vehicle in front of his apartment building at midnight Feb. 4. At 8:15 a.m. the next morning, he discovered the rear window and left side windows had been smashed. Police inspected the vehicle but were unable to locate what was used to break the windows.

Dexter Man Arrested on Warrant

Saline Police arrested a 40-year-old Dexter Village man on misdemeanor warrants Feb. 4.

Police were on patrol on Woodland drive when they spotted a vehicle stopped for a long period of time at Wildwood and Woodland drives, according to police reports. Police turned to follow the vehicle, which turned on to Cottonwood and pulled into a driveway. During a traffic stop, police learned the man was wanted for failure to appear in relation to child support, according to police. He was also issued a citation for improper license plates. The man posted a $500 bond at the Saline Police Department and was released.
