Pittsfield Police Investigate Armed Robbery At Motel 6

Pittsfield Township Police are investigating a reported armed robbery at the Motel 6, 3764 S. State St., Sunday night.

According to a report issued by Pittsfield Police, a lone suspect walked into the lobby of the hotel at 10:50 p.m., produced a black revolver handgun and demanded money from a 26-year-old Belleville woman working at the front desk. Police say the woman handed over an undisclosed amount of money to the suspect who then left the motel. Once outside, he may have fled in a UHaul truck waiting outside with an unknown driver, police say. The truck went  southbound on State Street, according to the report. The victim was unharmed, police say.

Police searched the area but did not find a vehicle or other signs of the suspect, according to the report. An Ann Arbor Police K-9 unit assisted in the search.

Police warned residents in the area to be cautious.

The suspect is described as a 5’6 male with a thin build. He is believed to be 20-25 years old and was wearing a dark blue or black varsity-style jacket with white stripes around the sleeves. He was also wearing a dark ski mask.

The incident is being investigated by the Pittsfield Township Police detective bureau.
