The second annual Saline Winterfest took place in downtown Saline Saturday.

The snow and chily temperatures weren't enough to bring back the Snowman Building Championships of the Free World and the events on the Henne Field ice rink, but it did make Saline look pretty for the wintery event.

Attendance was down but organizers were still pleased with the Fifth Corner 5K Run. Andrew Kitto was the first to cross the finish line.

Stone Arch Arts and Events was home to a euchre tournament sponsored by the Saline Area Chamber of Commerce. Sherl Still's team placed first. Jay Muntz' team was second. Taking third was Debby Schneider's team. Still had the most lone hands. Schneider was right behind her. Judy Erwin's team had the lowest score.

Ice sculptors turned blocks of ice into snowmen at several locations downtown.

The Saline Area Chamber of Commerce office played host to activities for children, including arts and crafts sponsored by the Saline Rec Center.
